What is the Freeview account and how do I sign up?
Your Freeview account is a single account giving you access to all the shows from all participating broadcasters. Signing up for a Freeview account means you won't need to sign in to individual broadcaster apps.
It's free to sign up, and you only need to do it once.
Since the account is only required to stream content and not for watching Live TV, you only need an account if you want to stream TV through Freeview On Demand.
How do I sign up?
The first time you stream a show through your TV, set top box or recorder with Freeview On Demand, you'll be asked to register for a Freeview account.
This will allow you to watch all that great TV any time, for free. The account will store your viewing history on your Recently Watched list, so you can easily go back to your favourite shows.
The first time you select to stream a show (say Shortland Street) you will be prompted to register for a Freeview account. You've got two ways to register:
- sign up with your email, find out more about email registration here.
- sign up with Facebook, find out more about Facebook registration here.
You only need to do it once and your TV, box or recorder will be linked to your Freeview Account.
Once you've completed the sign-up process, you'll be signed in automatically each time you access Freeview On Demand, so you won't need to sign in each time.
