Why does Freeview exist?

We at Freeview believe it's important that all New Zealanders can enjoy quality free-to-air TV & radio. That’s why we provide a range of platforms to ensure everyone in New Zealand can get Freeview, either via UHF or via Satellite, no matter where you are.

We don’t make, sell or install any TV or AV equipment, but we do work with manufacturers, retailers and installers who do. We also collaborate with leading manufacturers of TVs, Recorders and Set Top Boxes to test and certify the devices they make to ensure they work in New Zealand, with New Zealand broadcasting specifications.

And we work to provide viewers with information about getting Freeview and point you to the best people who can help resolve any technical issues you may encounter.
