What's happening?
Freeview's satellite TV service has moved to a replacement satellite KoreaSat6 on 15 April 2025.
As the old satellite (Optus D2) was due to retire earlier than expected in May, this move is crucial to ensure we can continue to provide New Zealanders with access to free Live TV via satellite.
This would have no impact if you tune in through a UHF aerial, or use our Freeview Streaming TV app. And for most people who are tuned in through satellite, the change would be seamless.
