On Thursday 28 May 2026, an update will be rolled out to the Freeview Streaming TV app to integrate with the new TVNZ+ channel delivery system.

While extensive testing and optimisations have been carried out to ensure a seamless transition, adapting to new delivery formats means some temporary teething issues may occur. 

Known minor issues:

1. Slight delay in the loading of TVNZ channels. Observed primarily on 2018, 2020 and 2023 LG TVs.

2. A brief delay in audio when loading TVNZ channels. Observed on 2021 Samsung TVs.

3. While streaming TVNZ channels, the stream may pause for 1-2 seconds before resuming. This may occur intermittently, and in some cases at an interval of 5-10 minutes. Observed so far on 2022 Hisense TVs and 2021 LG TVs.

TVNZ is aware of these issues, and technical teams are actively monitoring the rollout.
