Why can't I set up my TV, set top box or recorder?
Make sure you’ve followed all instructions in the User Manual that came you’re your TV, set top box or recorder, and that you’re connecting to an antenna that is in working order.
Check what type of TV antenna you have on your roof - is it a UHF aerial or a satellite dish? The set top box, recorder or TV needs to be the same type as the aerial or satellite dish, most TVs only work with a UHF aerial, except for Dual Tuner TVs that include 2016 & 2017 Samsung Smart TVs, selected 2017 Panasonic and LG Smart TVs - which work with both. If your antenna and the product are not compatible, you won't be able to successfully tune in Freeview channels. If you're unsure if your TV, set top box or recorder works with the TV antenna, best to contact the retailer or manufacturer to double-check.
The manufacturer can also help rule out any device-specific issues and check that you’ve completed first time set up and tuning correctly.
If this doesn't solve the problem then you may have a problem with your antenna and cabling, and it’s best to call your installer; if you don’t already have a preferred installer, you can find a directory of installers to help you find one in your area.
If you've purchased a non-approved digital receiver, we suggest you contact the person you bought it from for assistance.
