How do I do a retune?
A retune is a simple way to restore missing channels if your TV or box hasn't correctly picked up a recent network update.
To do a retune:
- Simple carry out AUTO-TUNING of your TV or box, as if you're setting up for the first time.
- If you're using a box, do this on the box.
- See this Tuning Guide for more information.
Do I need to do a cold retune?
When you experience reception issues or channel drop-outs, a cold retune can sometimes help to correct the problem, especially if the issue involves a poor cable connection going into your TV or box.
To do a cold retune:
- Power OFF your TV or box at the wall.
- Reconnect the signal cable at the back of your TV or box, making sure the cable connector is free from dust or debris and is securely fastened to your TV or box.
- If you're using a box, reconnect the cable that goes from the box to your TV as well. Again, ensure the cable is connected firmly to the box and the TV.
- Power ON your TV and/or box.
- Carry out auto-tuning of your TV or box, as if you're setting up for the first time. If you're using a box, do this on the box. Look for 'digital tuning' or 'auto tuning' in the SETTINGS or MENU of your TV or box. See this Tuning Guide for more information.
If a cold retune doesn't help with your reception issues, or if those issues are ongoing or happen repeatedly, please contact an installer to check and fix your TV antenna and setup.
