Reach millions of Viewers.
Freeview is the home of free-to-air TV in New Zealand and is at the heart of the TV experience. The Freeview platform gives broadcasters unprecedented reach to two-thirds of NZ households, spanning all demographics and geographic regions across the country.
If you're a broadcaster wanting to share your distinctive voice with the communities of New Zealand, you too can deliver your content to the masses through a Freeview channel.
Join the ecosystem.
Freeview partners with the leading broadcasters in New Zealand and beyond to offer a line-up of high-calibre channels. Broadcasters who work with Freeview provide carefully curated and scheduled programmes across a wide range of diverse channel brands.
We are always interested to talk with new broadcasters who have premium channels for the New Zealand market.
Stand out
in the crowd.
Freeview is the best way to get prominence for your content. The Freeview EPG is used daily by hundreds of thousands of New Zealanders to find content to watch. By offering only a carefully managed number of channels Freeview makes it easy to get your channel content noticed.
The key to this is the LCN or logical channel number which defines your position in the EPG.
Options for channel distribution.
Freeview offers flexibility to match your needs. Whether it is mass market reach via DTT (digital terrestrial television), or a scaling model delivered by IP, Freeview has options to explore.
DTT is available to 86% of New Zealand homes and as a broadcaster, you can go nationwide or choose to target specific regions, such as Auckland, Wellington, Southland etc. DTT requires you to setup a carriage agreement with Kordia who runs the DTT network.
IP channels are delivered via the Freeview Streaming TV app, which is available across most Smart TVs. It reaches hundreds of thousands of Kiwis and is the fastest growing Freeview platform. You require your own CDN arrangements to deliver to the Freeview app.
