The Freeview Guide

To make viewing even more enjoyable, Freeview approved digital receivers feature an Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) - The Freeview Guide - that you can access with the EPG button on your digital receiver remote control.

The Freeview Guide is very simple to use and enables you to view 8 days of programme listings on all Freeview channels. It also contains a Now/Next screen that shows what is on now and next for each channel. When new channels are added to the Freeview service they will automatically appear on the Freeview Guide.

Here's how to use your Freeview Guide:

When you press the EPG button on your remote, you'll see 'loading...' this tells you that the Freeview Guide is being downloaded to your digital receiver. You will then see a screen like the one below, displaying the current day's programmes for the channel you were watching. The programme you were watching appears in the top right corner along with a description, parental rating and captioning information for the highlighted programme (on the lower right below the ¼ screen video window).

Press up or down buttons on your remote to navigate up and down through this channel's programme listing for the current day. As you scroll, you'll see a synopsis of the highlighted programme, along with the parental rating and captioning information.

If you scroll down past midnight, you'll see the next day's listing. If you scroll up past midnight, you'll see the previous day's listing. If you reach the end of 8 days' listings, you'll loop back to the current day.

Press left or right buttons on your remote to navigate between Freeview channels. You can see which channel's listings you're currently viewing (e.g. 001) next to 'Chnl'.

You can also press the appropriate channel number button (e.g. 3 for TV3) to move directly to that channels listings page.

Press the yellow button on your remote to go to the previous day's listing or the blue button to go to the next day's listing for the current channel. You can loop through the next 7 days this way.

Press OK on a highlighted programme and, if it is currently on, you will be tuned in to that highlighted channel and programme.

Press EXIT or BACK or RETURN on your remote to exit the Freeview Guide and return to the programme you were watching.

Press EPG again to display the 'What's On Now/Next' page.

This page displays what's on now and next on all Freeview channels

Press up or down buttons on your remote to navigate through channels or you can press the appropriate channel number button (e.g. 3 for TV3) to move that channel to the top of the page.

Press OK on your remote to watch the channel and programme you've highlighted.

Press EXIT or BACK or RETURN on your remote to exit the EPG and return to the programme you were watching.

Press EPG again to return to the current day's listing page for the highlighted channel.
